State-owned Poker Service for Swedes
Swedish state-owned gambling monopoly Svenska Spel is to create and operate an Internet poker service. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed to play on the Internet service. Poker is the only game on the service as casinos and betting exchanges are not allowed. Players also have to set limits for themselves up front to indicate how much they are willing to lose.
Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Bosse Ringholm said the reason he is allowing the poker service to go forward is state control. Swedes can now play online poker under Big Brother's watchful eye!
