Amateur Wins Party Poker Tournament
Paul Wieber a 32-year-old customer service manager at a Grand Rapids sign company, won
Party Poker's 'High Flier Jet Promotion' tournament and $125,000.
Wieber had been playing online poker for only about six months and got into the
Party Poker tournament through a freeroll.
Satellites to the private jet promotion began Nov. 26, 2005, for as little as $6. Wieber got into the main tournament by entering one of the daily freeroll events that cost him 500 Party Points.
