World Series of Poker 2006
The World Series of Poker 2006 held at the Rio Casino Las Vegas, broke many records. It was the longest tournament in history, the biggest field ever and the richest prize pool - $83 million – the world has ever seen.
This morning, just before midday and after 14 hours play, Jamie Gold, pushed all his chips into the middle of the table and was called by Paul Wasicka. Jamie had Q 9 and Paul had a 10 10. On the Flop came Q 8 5 and Paul made the first move and put in 1.5 million chips. Jamie immediately raised all in. Paul called rolling over a pair of 10s. Jamie showed Q 9 and was in the lead with the better pair. An Ace came on the Turn and a 4 on the River - Jamie Gold won Event 39 with a pair of Queens and $12,000,000!
The WSOP is the most prestigious tournament in poker and the richest sporting event in the world!
