Jamie Gold Drama Continues

The drama behind Jamie Gold's $12 million victory at the WSOP continues as a new injunction may now hold up half of the champ's winnings.

Richard Schonfeld, the attorney for Bruce Crispin Leyser, said that Judge Roger L Hunt is expected to sign the injunction soon. The injunction would freeze half of the $12 million and open up half of the funds for Gold to claim.

Gold has acknowledged Leyser's help in recent interviews, and it appears the issue is not whether Leyser should get a cut - the issue is how much that percentage should be. Leyser claims that he and Gold entered into an agreement that whatever monies won by Gold during his play of the Main Event would be split between the two. Leyser also claims he can back this up in the form of a saved cell phone message on the day of the final table, in which Gold allegedly pledges to hold up his end of the fifty-fifty split.

Will Gold take the $6 million and walk away or will he keep fighting for the rest of the money? One thing is for sure, the lawyers will make a bundle!
