James Giordano
A massive billion-dollar-a-year gambling ring, that rivaled casino sports books, was busted in New York.
The ring of over 2,000 bookies was run by poker player, James Giordano who won a Texas Hold'em tournament at the Bellagio worth nearly $100,000 earlier this year.
James Giordano left his laptop computer in a Long Island hotel room for three hours during which time FBI spooks hacked into it and took all of the data. Apparently the laptop contained information of the entire operation.
He was arrested early Wednesday in his fortress-like Florida compound. Also seized was original artwork by Peter Max and Salvador Dali, four Manhattan condominiums, millions of dollars in cash, tens of thousands of dollars worth of casino chips from the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas, jewelry, gold coins, and a football signed by the 1969 New York Jets following their Super Bowl victory.
